R&D Fabric Developer (fibers)
As a R&D Fabric Developer, you will be responsible for driving innovation in textiles and fabrics within our PPE and workwear lines. You will conduct in-depth research on the latest technical trends and market developments, providing valuable insights to elevate our product development. You will work closely with our team and suppliers to develop products that meet the highest quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
You support group’s vision on personal protective equipment (PPE) and workwear by contributing to textile research and innovation
You assist in researching the latest trends and developments in the textile and workwear sector.
You help organize tests for new fabrics and products and assist in analyzing test results alongside experienced colleagues.
You support the team in complying with quality, ethical, and regulatory standards for our fabrics.
You keep up-to-date with relevant legislation and standards regarding PPE and workwear (training and guidance will be provided).
You assist in managing and updating alsico’s fabric library to keep it current for product development.
You learn how to draft fabric specifications and ensure accurate status updates on projects you are involved in.
You gain insight into commercial laundry processes and how they impact the performance of workwear and PPE.
You have the opportunity to attend trade shows and supplier meetings to gather inspiration for textile innovations.
Profile
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Textile Technology or Chemistry. Less than 1 year experience is acceptable, internships our placement years can be included
Experience: Less than 1 year of relevant experience is acceptable; internships or placement years will also be considered.
Personal qualities: Proactive, solution-oriented, and a true team player with a hands-on mentality.
Work style: Accurate and structured, with strong analytical skills.
Language skills: Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of French and Dutch is an asset.
Technical skills: Excellent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with ClickUp and SAP is a plus.
